About the Seminar
Every year, Wasser & Bau organizes international training workshops for water and environmental professionals in collaboration with the German Association for Water, Wastewater and Waste (DWA), headquartered in Hennef, Germany.
Following the first batch of the 2026 programme, Wasser & Bau is pleased to announce a second batch of the DWA Germany Technical Training Programme, offering another opportunity for professionals to gain international exposure and learn from Germany’s advanced water and wastewater management systems.
This year’s training workshop focuses on Water Supply and Wastewater Management.
Participants will gain an understanding of the German water sector, including its structure, facts and figures, key stakeholders, administrative framework, historical development, and current industry challenges.
The seminar will address important questions such as:
- Why does Germany have so many technical standards and regulations?
- Who develops these standards, and how are they implemented in practice?
- How are water and wastewater infrastructures organized, operated, and financed?
- What lessons can Nigeria learn from Germany’s water management system?
Beyond understanding the German system, participants will explore practical examples of how successful approaches, technologies, and management models can be adapted to Nigeria.
The programme will feature expert presentations, group exercises, case studies, practical demonstrations, and interactive discussions. Participants will also gain valuable insights into the roles of industry associations, regulatory bodies, and water utility operators.
