ABOUT THE COURSES
Wasser and Bau is expanding the Capacity Building Initiative for members of the Nigerian Engineering Community by bringing quality resource persons in different areas to handle training for Nigerian Engineers. More than 150 engineers have passed through our training in the last one year
These courses will focus basically on young and middle level engineers with little or no experience in dams and bridges or hydraulic structures. Basic first principles in the planning and design of dams, hydraulic structure and hydropower will be taught in this course and backed by relevant computer softwares used all over the world.
ABOUT HEC-RAS AND GEORAS
HEC-RAS is a Hydrologic Modeling System that is designed to describe the physical properties of streams and rivers, and to route flows through them. GeoHECRAS provides full HEC-RAS support to perform FEMA floodplain modeling, analyze and design bridge and culvert roadway crossings, bridge scour analysis, stream realignments, and dam failure studies. It can edit multiple HEC-RAS models simultaneously, allowing the engineer to copy-paste between models

The course training materials is drawing from the Infrastructure Planning (MIP) and Water Resources Management (WAREM) Masters Course Modules of the University of Stuttgart, Germany. This module of the International Masters Programme designed by the German Government for transfer of capacity to developing countries will be summarized in three days.
Maximum class size is 5 participants per batch. The intent is to make the training a hand-on experience for participant with videos, case studies and real practical cases. At the end of the training, participants are expected to be able to plan, design and model dams, hydraulic structure and preliminary design of hydropower systems using the relevant softwares.
The Course Fee is Seventy-five Thousand (N75000.00) Naira only per participant.
The Fee covers Software, Workshop Materials, video CDs, Certificate of Participation, Breakfast and Lunch.
